CVSS v3.1 |
A flaw was found in glibc. When the getaddrinfo function is called with the AF_UNSPEC address family and the system is configured with no-aaaa mode via /etc/resolv.conf, a DNS response via TCP larger than 2048 bytes can potentially disclose stack contents through the function returned address data, and may cause a crash.
A flaw was found in the exFAT driver of the Linux kernel. The vulnerability exists in the implementation of the file name reconstruction function, which is responsible for reading file name entries from a directory index and merging file name parts belonging to one file into a single long file name. Since the file name characters are copied into a stack variable, a local privileged attacker could use this flaw to overflow the kernel stack.
IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a stack-based buffer overflow.
In parseMetaData of StagefrightMetadataRetriever.cpp, there is a possible denial of service due to a stack buffer overflow. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A pre-authentication stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the SonicOS TACACS+ authentication client, which in specific conditions could potentially enable a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause an application level denial of service.
netrek-client-cow through 3.3.3 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in handleSMessage() in short.c that allows malicious servers to overflow a 100-byte stack buffer by sending oversized SP_S_MESSAGE packets. A malicious Netrek server or man-in-the-middle on the plaintext TCP connection can send overlong or unterminated message bodies to write server-controlled bytes onto the stack and crash the client.
SDL_mixer 3.1.2 through 3.2.4 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in FetchXLaw() of src/decoder_wav.c when decoding A-law or mu-law WAV files. Attackers can supply a crafted WAV file whose doubly-offset float expansion overwrites about 1 KB of adjacent stack memory, causing crashes or potentially code execution.
A vulnerability was found in WAVLINK WN536AX6-A V260507. This affects the function strcpy of the file /protocol.csp of the component OpenVPN Handler. The manipulation of the argument openvpn_ip results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure.
MikroTik RouterOS before 7.23.4 (long-term) and 7.24.2 (stable) contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the mtget binary's TFTP RRQ builder function that allows authenticated users to crash the mtget worker process by supplying a URL path of 507 bytes or more to the /tool fetch command; the first write outside the 528-byte buffer occurs at 505 bytes. Attackers can trigger the overflow by issuing a fetch command with a crafted tftp:// URL path, which causes an unbounded rep movsb instruction to overwrite saved registers at a deterministic offset, crashing the process without requiring a reachable TFTP server or elevated privileges beyond read-only group membership. On older RouterOS versions, this overflow is not limited to crashing the process: the deterministic overwrite of saved registers is exploitable to achieve persistent privilege escalation on the device. On versions with intact exploit mitigations, the impact is limited to a crash of the mtget worker process.
A Stack Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the DHCP client in Juniper Networks Session Smart Router allows an unauthenticated attacker on the local network to achieve remote code execution via a malicious DHCP reply.
A flaw was found in the interactive shell of the xmllint command-line tool, used for parsing XML files. When a user inputs an overly long command, the program does not check the input size properly, which can cause it to crash. This issue might allow attackers to run harmful code in rare configurations without modern protections.
A stack buffer overflow flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The checkPrefix() function in pw.c copies an attacker-controlled algorithm ID into a 256-byte stack buffer without bounds checking when parsing reversible-encrypted attribute values. An attacker with Directory Manager privileges can crash the LDAP server by storing a crafted credential with an oversized algorithm ID. FORTIFY_SOURCE mitigates this to denial of service only.
A flaw was found in the GnuTLS library, specifically in the gnutls_pkcs11_token_init() function that handles PKCS#11 token initialization. When a token label longer than expected is processed, the function writes past the end of a fixed-size stack buffer. This programming error can cause the application using GnuTLS to crash or, in certain conditions, be exploited for code execution. As a result, systems or applications relying on GnuTLS may be vulnerable to a denial of service or local privilege escalation attacks.
SDL_mixer 3.1.2 through 3.2.4 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in FetchXLaw() in src/decoder_aiff.c due to miscalculated output offsets when expanding A-law or mu-law samples. Attackers can supply a crafted AIFF-C file that overwrites roughly 1 KB of adjacent stack memory when decoded, causing crashes or potential code execution.
libnxml before 0.18.6 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in src/nxml_parser.c that allows remote attackers to write past a 1024-byte stack buffer via long XML names. Attackers can supply XML or RSS feeds with a 1022-character element, attribute, DOCTYPE or entity name ending in a multi-byte UTF-8 character to crash parsing applications.
| A stack-based buffer overflow in Thales SafeNet Authentication Client (SAC) SIS token engine processing can be triggered by a malicious physical or software-emulated smart card. The issue can occur before authentication or PIN entry and may
cause a denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the affected process. Affected releases start with SAC 10.8 R7 and include SAC 10.9 R3 GA (build 10.9.7449). |
A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability [CWE-121] vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.6.1 through 7.6.6 may allow an unauthenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and ASLR to execute arbitrary code or commands in the context of the WAD daemon via crafted sockets, only if the explicit proxy is configured with Kerberos authentication and SOCKS enabled.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Fortinet FortiWeb 8.0.0 through 8.0.3, FortiWeb 7.6.0 through 7.6.6, FortiWeb 7.4.0 through 7.4.11, FortiWeb 7.2 all versions, FortiWeb 7.0 all versions may allow a remote authenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and ASLR to execute arbitrary code or commands via crafted HTTP requests.
A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability [CWE-121] vulnerability in Fortinet FortiWeb 8.0.0 through 8.0.2, FortiWeb 7.6.0 through 7.6.6, FortiWeb 7.4 all versions, FortiWeb 7.2 all versions, FortiWeb 7.0.2 through 7.0.12 may allow a remote authenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and ASLR to execute arbitrary code or commands via crafted HTTP requests.
Netpbm before 10.86.51, 11.x before 11.02.30, and 11.03 before 11.15.08 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in picttoppm's scanPoly() function in converter/ppm/picttoppm.c. Attackers can supply a crafted PICT file whose polygon edges produce more than 5000 points, overflowing the coord stack array to crash the converter or potentially execute code.
