| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's TUN/TAP functionality. This issue could allow a local user to bypass network filters and gain unauthorized access to some resources. The original patches fixing CVE-2023-1076 are incorrect or incomplete. The problem is that the following upstream commits - a096ccca6e50 ("tun: tun_chr_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), - 66b2c338adce ("tap: tap_open(): correctly initialize socket uid"), pass "inode->i_uid" to sock_init_data_uid() as the last parameter and that turns out to not be accurate. | ||||

| A Type Confusion vulnerability was found in Samba's mdssvc RPC service for Spotlight. When parsing Spotlight mdssvc RPC packets, one encoded data structure is a key-value style dictionary where the keys are character strings, and the values can be any of the supported types in the mdssvc protocol. Due to a lack of type checking in callers of the dalloc_value_for_key() function, which returns the object associated with a key, a caller may trigger a crash in talloc_get_size() when talloc detects that the passed-in pointer is not a valid talloc pointer. With an RPC worker process shared among multiple client connections, a malicious client or attacker can trigger a process crash in a shared RPC mdssvc worker process, affecting all other clients this worker serves. | ||||
| CVE-2026-124031 | 1 Gpac | 1 Gpac | 2026-11-06 | 5.5 Medium |
| GPAC through 26.07.0 contains a type confusion vulnerability in drawable_get_aspect_2d_mpeg4() and TraverseShape() that casts a Shape's appearance node to M_Appearance without checking its node tag. Attackers can supply a crafted XMT file placing another node type, such as Conditional, in the appearance field to trigger an invalid memory read and crash MP4Box. | ||||
| CVE-2026-124030 | 1 Gpac | 1 Gpac | 2026-11-06 | 5.5 Medium |
| GPAC through 26.07.0 contains a type confusion vulnerability in gf_sg_command_apply() in src/scenegraph/commands.c that fails to verify BIFS field-replace command types match target node fields. Attackers can supply a crafted XMT file opened with MP4Box, such as via chapter import, causing gf_sg_vrml_field_clone() to memcpy from invalid pointers and crash. | ||||
| CVE-2026-18417 | 1 Zephyrproject | 1 Zephyr | 2026-11-06 | 6.5 Medium |
| The native BSD-socket layer recorded a pending asynchronous socket error by type-punning it into struct net_context's void user_data field (ctx->user_data = INT_TO_POINTER(-status) in zsock_accepted_cb(), zsock_received_cb(), zsock_connected_cb() and zsock_close_ctx() in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets_inet.c), reading it back with POINTER_TO_INT(). That same field is owned by the network stack for listening TCP contexts: net_tcp_accept() stores the parent context pointer there and the TCP core passes it back to the registered accept callback. A failed accept therefore left a small integer (an errno value) where the stack expected a struct net_context . When the network interface carrying a listening TCP socket goes down, close_tcp_conn() in subsys/net/ip/tcp.c invokes the accept callback with -ENETDOWN and the context's user_data. In v4.3.0 the callback was not disarmed afterwards, so a second interface-down event forwarded the previously stored errno to zsock_accepted_cb(), which dereferenced it as the parent context and performed several stores through it (sock_set_error()'s read-modify-write of socket_data, k_fifo_cancel_wait(&parent->recv_q)) — the crash described in the fix's commit message. v4.3.1 and v4.4.x carry a later change clearing conn->accept_cb after the error callback (269cb8823d3 on the v4.3 branch, 913fae5169425550f2364655298fceb79b320066 on main), which closes that repeat path; on those releases the poisoned cookie remains reachable only by a narrower race, a handshake completing alongside the interface-down still passing the stale cookie to k_fifo_put(&parent->accept_q, ...), and by getsockopt(SO_ERROR), which reads the field back unconditionally. On v4.3.0 an application that keeps a listening TCP socket open across repeated link-down events is sufficient to reach the defect; the triggering condition is a network-interface state change, not attacker-supplied packet data, so the practical attacker is one able to force the link down repeatedly (for example an adjacent attacker disrupting a wireless link) or one with local/physical access. Because both the faulting address and the stored data are fixed small constants derived from the errno value, the outcome is a wild-pointer access leading to a kernel fatal error — a denial of service (device crash or reset) rather than an attacker-directed memory corruption. The fix stores the pending error in a dedicated net_context.sock_error field and converts every producer and consumer to sock_set_error()/sock_get_error(), leaving user_data untouched. As a side effect it also stops getsockopt(SO_ERROR) — which is evaluated unconditionally — from returning the kernel address held in user_data to a userspace application. | ||||
| CVE-2026-72256 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-06 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_cluster: reject template conntracks in hash match xt_cluster_mt() treats any non-NULL nf_ct_get() result as a fully initialized conntrack and passes it to xt_cluster_hash(). This causes a state confusion bug when the raw table CT target attaches a template conntrack to skb->_nfct before normal conntrack processing. Templates carry IPS_TEMPLATE status but do not have a valid tuple for hashing yet, so xt_cluster_hash() can hit its WARN_ON() path on the zeroed l3num field. Reject template conntracks before hashing them. This matches existing netfilter handling for template objects and avoids hashing incomplete conntrack state. | ||||
| CVE-2026-68344 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-06 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: atm: ueagle-atm: reject descriptors that confuse probe and disconnect uea_probe() distinguishes a pre-firmware device from a post-firmware one using the USB id (UEA_IS_PREFIRM()), and stores a different object as the interface data in each case: a 'struct completion' for a pre-firmware device (to be waited on in .disconnect()), or a 'struct usbatm_data' for a post-firmware one. uea_disconnect() instead tells the two apart by the number of interfaces of the active configuration (a pre-firmware device exposes a single interface, ADI930 has 2 and eagle has 3), and casts the interface data accordingly. Because the two handlers use different criteria, a crafted device that advertises a pre-firmware id together with a multi-interface descriptor (or a post-firmware id with a single interface) makes them disagree: the small 'struct completion' stored by uea_probe() is then passed to usbatm_usb_disconnect(), which casts it to 'struct usbatm_data' and takes instance->serialize, reading past the end of the allocation: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in __mutex_lock+0x152a/0x1b80 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8880470e2c60 by task kworker/1:2/982 ... __mutex_lock+0x152a/0x1b80 usbatm_usb_disconnect+0x70/0x820 uea_disconnect+0x133/0x2c0 usb_unbind_interface+0x1dd/0x9e0 ... which belongs to the cache kmalloc-96 of size 96 The buggy address is located 0 bytes to the right of allocated 96-byte region [ffff8880470e2c00, ffff8880470e2c60) Reject such inconsistent descriptors in uea_probe() so that both handlers always make the same pre/post-firmware decision. | ||||

| CVE-2025-11731 | 1 Redhat | 4 Enterprise Linux, Hummingbird, Openshift and 1 more | 2026-11-06 | 3.1 Low |
| A flaw was found in the exsltFuncResultComp() function of libxslt, which handles EXSLT <func:result> elements during stylesheet parsing. Due to improper type handling, the function may treat an XML document node as a regular XML element node, resulting in a type confusion. This can cause unexpected memory reads and potential crashes. While difficult to exploit, the flaw could lead to application instability or denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-116370 | 2 2k, 2k Games | 3 Sid Meiers Civilization Vi, Civilization Iv, Sid Meiers Civilization Vi | 2026-11-06 | 6.3 Medium |
| A security flaw has been discovered in 2K Games Sid Meier's Civilization VI 1.0.12.68. The affected element is the function loadstring of the component Lua sandbox. Performing a manipulation results in type confusion. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The patch is named Hotfix November 2026. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure. | ||||
| CVE-2026-80185 | 1 Redhat | 2 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els | 2026-11-06 | 5.7 Medium |
| BlueZ sdp-xml.c type confusion via RegisterProfile(ServiceRecord) can crash bluetoothd (local DoS): a crafted nested ServiceRecord can corrupt the SDP XML parser stack so scalar union data is treated as a sequence pointer, allowing a local caller to crash bluetoothd. | ||||
| CVE-2026-116782 | 1 Signalwire | 1 Freeswitch | 2026-11-05 | 7.5 High |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, rtmp_i_connect() passed the first RTMP connect argument to amf0_object_get() without checking whether the AMF value was an object. A string or number in place of an AMF object caused union bytes from the message to be interpreted as node pointers and dereferenced. Any client with network access to an enabled mod_rtmp listener could send the malformed connect command before login; the module is disabled in the stock build and configuration. The invalid read reliably crashes FreeSWITCH and ends every active call, while no write, memory disclosure, or code execution has been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-31438 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-05 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix kernel BUG in netfs_limit_iter() for ITER_KVEC iterators When a process crashes and the kernel writes a core dump to a 9P filesystem, __kernel_write() creates an ITER_KVEC iterator. This iterator reaches netfs_limit_iter() via netfs_unbuffered_write(), which only handles ITER_FOLIOQ, ITER_BVEC and ITER_XARRAY iterator types, hitting the BUG() for any other type. Fix this by adding netfs_limit_kvec() following the same pattern as netfs_limit_bvec(), since both kvec and bvec are simple segment arrays with pointer and length fields. Dispatch it from netfs_limit_iter() when the iterator type is ITER_KVEC. | ||||
| CVE-2026-23346 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-05 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: io: Extract user memory type in ioremap_prot() The only caller of ioremap_prot() outside of the generic ioremap() implementation is generic_access_phys(), which passes a 'pgprot_t' value determined from the user mapping of the target 'pfn' being accessed by the kernel. On arm64, the 'pgprot_t' contains all of the non-address bits from the pte, including the permission controls, and so we end up returning a new user mapping from ioremap_prot() which faults when accessed from the kernel on systems with PAN: | Unable to handle kernel read from unreadable memory at virtual address ffff80008ea89000 | ... | Call trace: | __memcpy_fromio+0x80/0xf8 | generic_access_phys+0x20c/0x2b8 | __access_remote_vm+0x46c/0x5b8 | access_remote_vm+0x18/0x30 | environ_read+0x238/0x3e8 | vfs_read+0xe4/0x2b0 | ksys_read+0xcc/0x178 | __arm64_sys_read+0x4c/0x68 Extract only the memory type from the user 'pgprot_t' in ioremap_prot() and assert that we're being passed a user mapping, to protect us against any changes in future that may require additional handling. | CVE-2026-6732 | 3 Ibm, Redhat, Xmlsoft | 11 Aix, Vios, Enterprise Linux and 8 more | 2026-11-05 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libxml2. This vulnerability occurs when the library processes a specially crafted XML Schema Definition (XSD) validated document that includes an internal entity reference. An attacker could exploit this by providing a malicious document, leading to a type confusion error that causes the application to crash. This results in a denial of service (DoS), making the affected system or application unavailable. | ||||
| CVE-2025-21632 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-11-05 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/fpu: Ensure shadow stack is active before "getting" registers The x86 shadow stack support has its own set of registers. Those registers are XSAVE-managed, but they are "supervisor state components" which means that userspace can not touch them with XSAVE/XRSTOR. It also means that they are not accessible from the existing ptrace ABI for XSAVE state. Thus, there is a new ptrace get/set interface for it. The regset code that ptrace uses provides an ->active() handler in addition to the get/set ones. For shadow stack this ->active() handler verifies that shadow stack is enabled via the ARCH_SHSTK_SHSTK bit in the thread struct. The ->active() handler is checked from some call sites of the regset get/set handlers, but not the ptrace ones. This was not understood when shadow stack support was put in place. As a result, both the set/get handlers can be called with XFEATURE_CET_USER in its init state, which would cause get_xsave_addr() to return NULL and trigger a WARN_ON(). The ssp_set() handler luckily has an ssp_active() check to avoid surprising the kernel with shadow stack behavior when the kernel is not ready for it (ARCH_SHSTK_SHSTK==0). That check just happened to avoid the warning. But the ->get() side wasn't so lucky. It can be called with shadow stacks disabled, triggering the warning in practice, as reported by Christina Schimpe: WARNING: CPU: 5 PID: 1773 at arch/x86/kernel/fpu/regset.c:198 ssp_get+0x89/0xa0 [...] Call Trace: <TASK> ? show_regs+0x6e/0x80 ? ssp_get+0x89/0xa0 ? __warn+0x91/0x150 ? ssp_get+0x89/0xa0 ? report_bug+0x19d/0x1b0 ? handle_bug+0x46/0x80 ? exc_invalid_op+0x1d/0x80 ? asm_exc_invalid_op+0x1f/0x30 ? __pfx_ssp_get+0x10/0x10 ? ssp_get+0x89/0xa0 ? ssp_get+0x52/0xa0 __regset_get+0xad/0xf0 copy_regset_to_user+0x52/0xc0 ptrace_regset+0x119/0x140 ptrace_request+0x13c/0x850 ? wait_task_inactive+0x142/0x1d0 ? do_syscall_64+0x6d/0x90 arch_ptrace+0x102/0x300 [...] Ensure that shadow stacks are active in a thread before looking them up in the XSAVE buffer. Since ARCH_SHSTK_SHSTK and user_ssp[SHSTK_EN] are set at the same time, the active check ensures that there will be something to find in the XSAVE buffer. [ dhansen: changelog/subject tweaks ] | ||||
| CVE-2026-118510 | 1 Mongodb | 1 Laravel Mongodb | 2026-11-05 | 8.8 High |
| A type-handling flaw in the relationship query building of this MongoDB integration library can cause a check for the absence of a related record to be compiled with an identifier of the wrong data type. In an application that relies on such a check to decide which documents a request may see or act on, a user with basic privileges may be served, may change, or may remove documents that the check was intended to withhold. The failure is silent and produces no error. | ||||
