CVE-2022-3566 2 Linux, Redhat 5 Kernel, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-08-26 4.6 Medium
A vulnerability was identified in Linux Kernel up to 4.19.316/5.4.278/5.10.220/5.15.161. This impacts the function tcp_getsockopt/tcp_setsockopt of the component TCP Handler. Such manipulation leads to race condition. A high complexity level is associated with this attack. The exploitability is said to be difficult. The vulnerability was introduced in 2.6.12, commit 1da177e4c3f41524e886b7f1b8a0c1fc7321cac2 ("Linux-2.6.12-rc2"). Upgrading to version 4.19.317, 5.4.279, 5.10.221, 5.15.162 and 6.1 will fix this issue. The name of the patch is fcd31dd8291b23d713245947ec2b2d99ef07aef2/3b32f265805a49071e2c4568a524398ba22bf93c/d529193eae979a7bf2255cd9fe68b7af7a1c91b3/5bb642cc3355ffd3c8bca0a8bd8e6e65bcc2091c/f49cd2f4d6170d27a2c61f1fecb03d8a70c91f57. The affected component should be upgraded.
CVE-2026-74639 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: us144mkii: re-anchor capture URBs on resubmission capture_urb_complete() resubmits each capture URB without anchoring it: usb_get_urb(urb); ret = usb_submit_urb(urb, GFP_ATOMIC); Anchoring is a property of a submission, not of the URB. The giveback path calls usb_unanchor_urb() before urb->complete(), so an URB resubmitted from its own completion handler is off the anchor. The capture URBs are anchored once, at stream start, so from the first completion onward tascam->capture_anchor is empty. tascam_free_urbs(), tascam_disconnect(), tascam_suspend() and the stop-work path all call usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&tascam->capture_anchor) to reap the capture URBs before anything is freed. With the anchor empty those calls return immediately and the URBs stay queued on the host controller. tascam_free_urbs() then returns the capture transfer buffers with usb_free_coherent(), and snd_card_free() releases the snd_card allocation that embeds tascam (card->private_data). The controller completes the queued URBs afterwards, writing device-supplied data into the freed transfer buffer, and capture_urb_complete() dereferences the freed driver object. KASAN on 7.2.0-rc5 (arm64): BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in dummy_timer Write of size 512 at addr ffff000015b62000 __asan_memcpy dummy_timer hrtimer_run_softirq Allocated by task 64: usb_alloc_coherent tascam_alloc_urbs tascam_probe Freed by task 170: usb_free_coherent tascam_free_urbs tascam_disconnect usb_unbind_interface BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in capture_urb_complete Read of size 4 at addr ffff0000170ee878 Freed by task 170: release_card_device snd_card_free tascam_disconnect Restore the usb_anchor_urb() between the reference count bump and the resubmission. That also makes the handler's usb_unanchor_urb() failure arm meaningful again and restores usb_kill_anchored_urbs() as a barrier on the disconnect, suspend and stop-work paths. The anchoring was removed on the premise that the URB is already anchored from the initial submission, which does not hold once the first giveback has run. CVE-2026-68455 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-08-18 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: liveupdate: validate session type before performing operation The sessions ioctls are not applicable to all session types. PRESERVE_FD is only applicable to outgoing sessions. RETRIEVE_FD and FINISH are only valid for incoming session. Calling a incoming ioctl on an outgoing session is invalid and can cause file handlers to run into unexpected errors. For example, a user can create a (outgoing) session, preserve a memfd, and then immediately do a retrieve without doing a kexec in between. This would result in memfd's retrieve handler to run. The handlers expects to be called from a post-kexec context, and will try to do a kho_restore_vmalloc() or kho_restore_folio() to try and restore memory. KHO catches this (thanks to KHO_PAGE_MAGIC) and returns an error, but since this is considered an internal error and KHO throws out a bunch of WARN()s. Associate a type with each ioctl op and validate the type in luo_session_ioctl() before dispatching the ioctl handler to make sure the op is being called for the right session type.
CVE-2026-68090 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: debugobjects: Plug race against a concurrent OOM disable syzbot reported a puzzling splat: WARNING: kernel/time/hrtimer.c:443 at stub_timer+0xa/0x20 stub_timer() is installed as timer callback function in hrtimer_fixup_assert_init(), which is invoked when debug_object_assert_init() can't find a shadow object. In that case debug objects emits a warning about it before invoking the fixup. Though the provided console log lacks this warning and instead has the following a few seconds before the splat: ODEBUG: Out of memory. ODEBUG disabled So the object was looked up in debug_object_assert_init() and the lookup failed due a concurrent out of memory situation which disabled debug objects and freed the shadow objects: debug_object_assert_init() if (!debug_objects_enabled) return; obj = alloc(); if (!obj) { // Out of memory debug_objects_enabled = false; free_objects(); obj = lookup_or_alloc(); // The lookup failed because the other side // removed the objects, so this returns // an error code as the object in question // is not statically initialized if (!IS_ERR_OR_NULL(obj)) return; if (!obj) { debug_oom(); return; } print(...) if (!debug_objects_enabled) return; fixup(...) The debug object splat is skipped because debug_objects_enabled is false, but the fixup callback is invoked unconditionally, which makes the timer disfunctional. This is only a problem in debug_object_assert_init() and debug_object_activate() as both have to handle statically initialized objects and therefore must handle the error pointer return case gracefully. All other places only handle the found/not found case and the NULL pointer return is a signal for OOM. Otherwise they get a valid shadow object. Plug the hole by checking whether debug objects are still enabled before invoking the print and fixup function in those two places.

It does not always happen and when it triggers is variable but it has happened on multiple machines. The intent of commit b653db77350c patch was to avoid the case where PG_private is clear but folio->private is not-NULL. However, THP tail pages uses page->private for "swp_entry_t if folio_test_swapcache()" as stated in the documentation for struct folio. This patch only clobbers page->private for tail pages if the head page was not in swapcache and warns once if page->private had an unexpected value.
CVE-2022-49760 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: fix PTE marker handling in hugetlb_change_protection() Patch series "mm/hugetlb: uffd-wp fixes for hugetlb_change_protection()". Playing with virtio-mem and background snapshots (using uffd-wp) on hugetlb in QEMU, I managed to trigger a VM_BUG_ON(). Looking into the details, hugetlb_change_protection() seems to not handle uffd-wp correctly in all cases. Patch #1 fixes my test case. I don't have reproducers for patch #2, as it requires running into migration entries. I did not yet check in detail yet if !hugetlb code requires similar care. This patch (of 2): There are two problematic cases when stumbling over a PTE marker in hugetlb_change_protection(): (1) We protect an uffd-wp PTE marker a second time using uffd-wp: we will end up in the "!huge_pte_none(pte)" case and mess up the PTE marker. (2) We unprotect a uffd-wp PTE marker: we will similarly end up in the "!huge_pte_none(pte)" case even though we cleared the PTE, because the "pte" variable is stale. We'll mess up the PTE marker. For example, if we later stumble over such a "wrongly modified" PTE marker, we'll treat it like a present PTE that maps some garbage page. This can, for example, be triggered by mapping a memfd backed by huge pages, registering uffd-wp, uffd-wp'ing an unmapped page and (a) uffd-wp'ing it a second time; or (b) uffd-unprotecting it; or (c) unregistering uffd-wp. Then, ff we trigger fallocate(FALLOC_FL_PUNCH_HOLE) on that file range, we will run into a VM_BUG_ON: [ 195.039560] page:00000000ba1f2987 refcount:1 mapcount:0 mapping:0000000000000000 index:0x0 pfn:0x0 [ 195.039565] flags: 0x7ffffc0001000(reserved|node=0|zone=0|lastcpupid=0x1fffff) [ 195.039568] raw: 0007ffffc0001000 ffffe742c0000008 ffffe742c0000008 0000000000000000 [ 195.039569] raw: 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 00000001ffffffff 0000000000000000 [ 195.039569] page dumped because: VM_BUG_ON_PAGE(compound && !PageHead(page)) [ 195.039573] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 195.039574] kernel BUG at mm/rmap.c:1346! CVE-2022-3636 2 Debian, Linux 3 Debian Linux, Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-07-28 5.5 Medium
A vulnerability was identified in Linux Kernel 33fc42de33278b2b3ec6f3390512987bc29a62b7. This affects the function __mtk_ppe_check_skb of the file drivers/net/ethernet/mediatek/mtk_ppe.c of the component Ethernet Handler. Such manipulation leads to use after free. The name of the patch is 17a5f6a78dc7b8db385de346092d7d9f9dc24df6. It is best practice to apply a patch to resolve this issue. No released Linux Kernel version was ever affected by this CVE.
CVE-2025-38459 2 Debian, Linux 3 Debian Linux, Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-06-11 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: atm: clip: Fix infinite recursive call of clip_push(). syzbot reported the splat below. [0] This happens if we call ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) more than once. During the first call, clip_mkip() sets clip_push() to vcc->push(), and the second call copies it to clip_vcc->old_push(). Later, when the socket is close()d, vcc_destroy_socket() passes NULL skb to clip_push(), which calls clip_vcc->old_push(), triggering the infinite recursion. Let's prevent the second ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) by checking vcc->user_back, which is allocated by the first call as clip_vcc. Note also that we use lock_sock() to prevent racy calls. [ 0.506693] Callback from call_rcu_tasks() invoked. This commit therefore fixes this issue by applying a single-CPU optimization to the RCU Tasks Rude grace-period process. The key point here is that the purpose of this RCU flavor is to force a schedule on each online CPU since some past event. But the rcu_tasks_rude_wait_gp() function runs in the context of the RCU Tasks Rude's grace-period kthread, so there must already have been a context switch on the current CPU since the call to either synchronize_rcu_tasks_rude() or call_rcu_tasks_rude(). So if there is only a single CPU online, RCU Tasks Rude's grace-period kthread does not need to anything at all. It turns out that the rcu_tasks_rude_wait_gp() function's call to schedule_on_each_cpu() causes problems during early boot. During that time, there is only one online CPU, namely the boot CPU. Therefore, applying this single-CPU optimization fixes early-boot instances of this problem.
