CVSS v3.1 |
| A vulnerability has been identified in the libarchive library, specifically within the archive_read_format_rar_seek_data() function. This flaw involves an integer overflow that can ultimately lead to a double-free condition. Exploiting a double-free vulnerability can result in memory corruption, enabling an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition. |
| A double free in XKB SetGeometryin X.Org X Server before 21.1.25 and X Wayland before 24.1.14 could be used by attached clients to cause a crash or potentially code in the x server context. |
| A double free issue was addressed with improved memory management. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2. A remote attacker may cause an unexpected process termination. |
| Double free in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Double Free in µD3TN BPv6 Fragmenter Block Duplication allows Unauthenticated Remote Attacker to Cause DoS on Allocation Failure |
| A double free vulnerability exists in libcurl <8.0.0 when sharing HSTS data between separate "handles". This sharing was introduced without considerations for do this sharing across separate threads but there was no indication of this fact in the documentation. Due to missing mutexes or thread locks, two threads sharing the same HSTS data could end up doing a double-free or use-after-free. |
| An issue was discovered in zlib_decompress_extra in modules/demux/mkv/util.cpp in VideoLAN VLC media player 3.x through 3.0.7. The Matroska demuxer, while parsing a malformed MKV file type, has a double free. |
| In usb, there is a possible memory corruption due to double free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS11411924; Issue ID: MSV-9748. |
| In afe, there is a possible memory corruption due to double free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS11431412; Issue ID: MSV-9923. |
| A weakness has been identified in libimobiledevice up to 1.4.0. This issue affects the function service_receive of the file src/afc.c of the component AFC Service. Executing a manipulation can lead to double free. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 19.2 before 19.2.7, 19.3 before 19.3.3, and 19.4 before 19.4.1 that under certain conditions could have allowed an authenticated user to execute arbitrary code on the GitLab server due to a double free issue when parsing a specially crafted regular expression in a CI/CD configuration. |
| Double free in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| A use-after-free and double-free issue in the SetClient command handler of the kmstool-enclave sample application of AWS aws-nitro-enclaves-sdk-c before 0.4.6 may allow an application that runs on the parent EC2 instance to corrupt heap memory inside a Nitro Enclave which may lead to arbitrary code execution within the enclave.
To remediate this issue, users should rebuild any enclave image that includes kmstool-enclave, or code derived from it, against aws-nitro-enclaves-sdk-c 0.4.6. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
uio: uio_pci_generic_sva: fix double free of devm_kzalloc() memory
uio_pci_sva allocates struct uio_pci_sva_dev with devm_kzalloc() in
probe(), but then calls kfree(udev) both on the probe() error path
(label out_free) and again in remove().
Because devm_kzalloc() allocations are devres-managed and are freed
automatically when the device is detached (including after a failing
probe() and during driver unbind), the explicit kfree() can lead to a
double free.
If probe() fails after devm_kzalloc(), the error path frees udev and
devres cleanup will free it again when the core unwinds the partially
bound device. On normal driver removal, remove() frees udev and devres
will free it again when the device is detached.
This issue was identified by a static analysis tool I developed and
confirmed by manual review. Fix by removing the manual kfree() calls
and dropping the now-unused label. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
esp: do not unref managed frag pages in esp_ssg_unref()
esp_ssg_unref() releases the page references held on the source
scatterlist after the AEAD operation completes. It calls
skb_page_unref() on every frag page for an out-of-place transform
(req->src != req->dst), and in the error path of esp_output_tail()
(already_unref == true) on the request's own scatterlist.
This is wrong when the skb carries managed frags
(SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS). Managed frags are owned by a zerocopy ubuf
and the skb does not hold a per-frag page reference; io_uring SEND_ZC
with a registered buffer attaches the bvec pages this way via
io_sg_from_iter(). The rest of the stack honours this invariant:
skb_release_data() skips the per-frag unref when SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS
is set, and skb_zcopy_managed() is the guard used at the other unref
sites.
esp_ssg_unref() is missing that guard, so for a managed-frag skb it
drops a page reference the skb never acquired. This can underflow the
page reference count and free a page that is still in use.
Guard the function with skb_zcopy_managed() so both unref paths are
skipped for managed-frag skbs, matching skb_release_data(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
firmware: arm_scmi: Fix requested device removal race
scmi_protocol_device_unrequest() drops scmi_requested_devices_mtx while
notifying listeners but continues to retain the per-protocol list head.
When two SCMI drivers for the same protocol unregister concurrently, one
thread can remove the final request and free the list head while the other
is running its notifier. The latter then dereferences the freed list head
after reacquiring the mutex and can free it a second time.
Complete the list and IDR updates, including freeing an empty list head,
before dropping the mutex. Keep the blocking notifier outside the critical
section and retain only the detached request across the callback. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: nVMX: Put vmcs12 pages if nested VM-Enter fails due to invalid guest state
Put all vmcs12 pages if KVM synthesizes a nested VM-Exit due to invalid
guest while emulating VMLAUNCH or VMRESUME. The invalid guest state path
doesn't use nested_vmx_vmexit() as that API is intended to be used if and
only if L2 is active, and the open coded equivalent neglects to put the
vmcs12 pages. Failure to put the vmcs12 pages leaks any pinned pages
(and/or mappings) if L1 retries VMLAUNCH/VMRESUME.
Note, the !from_vmenter scenario doesn't suffer the same problem, as
vmx_get_nested_state_pages() only gets/pins/maps the vmcs12 pages if L2 is
active, i.e. if a "full" VM-Exit is guaranteed before KVM will retry
getting vmcs12 pages. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: fix double-free of tx_buf skb
If ice_tso() or ice_tx_csum() fail, the error path in
ice_xmit_frame_ring() frees the skb, but the 'first' tx_buf still points
to it and is marked as valid (ICE_TX_BUF_SKB).
'next_to_use' remains unchanged, so the potential problem will
likely fix itself when the next packet is transmitted and the tx_buf
gets overwritten. But if there is no next packet and the interface is
brought down instead, ice_clean_tx_ring() -> ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf()
will find the tx_buf and free the skb for the second time.
The fix is to reset the tx_buf type to ICE_TX_BUF_EMPTY in the error
path, so that ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf().
Move the initialization of 'first' up, to ensure it's already valid in
case we hit the linearization error path.
The bug was spotted by AI while I had it looking for something else.
It also proposed an initial version of the patch.
I reproduced the bug and tested the fix by adding code to inject
failures, on a build with KASAN.
I looked for similar bugs in related Intel drivers and did not find any. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Completely fix fcport double free
In qla24xx_els_dcmd_iocb() sp->free is set to qla2x00_els_dcmd_sp_free().
When an error happens, this function is called by qla2x00_sp_release(),
when kref_put() releases the first and the last reference.
qla2x00_els_dcmd_sp_free() frees fcport by calling qla2x00_free_fcport().
Doing it one more time after kref_put() is a bad idea. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
9p/xen: protect xen_9pfs_front_free against concurrent calls
The xenwatch thread can race with other back-end change notifications
and call xen_9pfs_front_free() twice, hitting the observed general
protection fault due to a double-free. Guard the teardown path so only
one caller can release the front-end state at a time, preventing the
crash.
This is a fix for the following double-free:
