CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: sch_fq: fix integer overflow of "credit"
if sch_fq is configured with "initial quantum" having values greater than
INT_MAX, the first assignment of "credit" does signed integer overflow to
a very negative value.
In this situation, the syzkaller script provided by Cristoph triggers the
CPU soft-lockup warning even with few sockets. It's not an infinite loop,
but "credit" wasn't probably meant to be minus 2Gb for each new flow.
Capping "initial quantum" to INT_MAX proved to fix the issue.
v2: validation of "initial quantum" is done in fq_policy, instead of open
coding in fq_change() _ suggested by Jakub Kicinski |

wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: fix potential array out of bounds access

key_len size in iwl_mvm_sec_key_add(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: iwlwifi: pcie: Fix integer overflow in iwl_write_to_user_buf
An integer overflow occurs in the iwl_write_to_user_buf() function,
which is called by the iwl_dbgfs_monitor_data_read() function.
static bool iwl_write_to_user_buf(char __user *user_buf, ssize_t count,
void *buf, ssize_t *size,
ssize_t *bytes_copied)
{
int buf_size_left = count - *bytes_copied;
buf_size_left = buf_size_left - (buf_size_left % sizeof(u32));
if (*size > buf_size_left)
*size = buf_size_left;
If the user passes a SIZE_MAX value to the "ssize_t count" parameter,
the ssize_t count parameter is assigned to "int buf_size_left".
Then compare "*size" with "buf_size_left" . Here, "buf_size_left" is a
negative number, so "*size" is assigned "buf_size_left" and goes into
the third argument of the copy_to_user function, causing a heap overflow.
This is not a security vulnerability because iwl_dbgfs_monitor_data_read()
is a debugfs operation with 0400 privileges. |

According to the definition of sseu_dev_info, eu_mask->hsw is limited to
a maximum of GEN_MAX_SS_PER_HSW_SLICE (6) sub-slices, but
gen11_sseu_info_init() can potentially set 8 sub-slices, in the
!IS_JSL_EHL(gt->i915) case.
Fix this by reserving up to 8 slots for max_subslices in the eu_mask
struct.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: ipset: Fix overflow before widen in the bitmap_ip_create() function.
When first_ip is 0, last_ip is 0xFFFFFFFF, and netmask is 31, the value of
an arithmetic expression 2 << (netmask - mask_bits - 1) is subject
to overflow due to a failure casting operands to a larger data type
before performing the arithmetic.
Note that it's harmless since the value will be checked at the next step.

wifi: brcmfmac: Fix potential shift-out-of-bounds in brcmf_fw_alloc_request()
This patch fixes a shift-out-of-bounds in brcmfmac that occurs in
BIT(chiprev) when a 'chiprev' provided by the device is too large.
It should also not be equal to or greater than BITS_PER_TYPE(u32)
as we do bitwise AND with a u32 variable and BIT(chiprev). The patch
adds a check that makes the function return NULL if that is the case.
Note that the NULL case is later handled by the bus-specific caller,
brcmf_usb_probe_cb() or brcmf_usb_reset_resume(), for example.
Found by a modified version of syzkaller.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: fix off-by-one errors in fast-commit block filling
Due to several different off-by-one errors, or perhaps due to a late
change in design that wasn't fully reflected in the code that was
actually merged, there are several very strange constraints on how
fast-commit blocks are filled with tlv entries:
- tlvs must start at least 10 bytes before the end of the block, even
though the minimum tlv length is 8. Otherwise, the replay code will
ignore them. (BUG: ext4_fc_reserve_space() could violate this
requirement if called with a len of blocksize - 9 or blocksize - 8.
Fortunately, this doesn't seem to happen currently.)
- tlvs must end at least 1 byte before the end of the block. Otherwise
the replay code will consider them to be invalid. This quirk
contributed to a bug (fixed by an earlier commit) where uninitialized
memory was being leaked to disk in the last byte of blocks.
Also, strangely these constraints don't apply to the replay code in
e2fsprogs, which will accept any tlvs in the blocks (with no bounds
checks at all, but that is a separate issue...).
Given that this all seems to be a bug, let's fix it by just filling
blocks with tlv entries in the natural way.
Note that old kernels will be unable to replay fast-commit journals
created by kernels that have this commit. |
| A flaw was found in the GNU Binutils BFD library, a widely used component for handling binary files such as object files and executables. The issue occurs when processing specially crafted XCOFF object files, where a relocation type value is not properly validated before being used. This can cause the program to read memory outside of intended bounds. As a result, affected tools may crash or expose unintended memory contents, leading to denial-of-service or limited information disclosure risks. |
| Incorrect boundary conditions in the WebRTC component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6. |
| A heap-buffer-overflow vulnerability exists in the APNG (Animated PNG) file loader of GIMP. This flaw occurs when the `fcTL` width exceeds the `IHDR` width, leading to pixel data being written past the end of a heap allocation. Additionally, a heap-based buffer overflow exists in the DDS plug-in due to a BPP mismatch in the `load_layer()` function. Both vulnerabilities can be triggered by opening a specially crafted image file, potentially leading to code execution. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, switch_xml_ampencode() reserved only ten bytes for the widest numeric character reference produced from a four-byte UTF-8 sequence, omitting space for the terminating NUL. When remote-supplied text was serialized at the exact buffer-growth boundary, the terminator wrote one byte beyond the heap allocation. Reachable surfaces include mod_xml_cdr, conference and formatted CDR XML, XML Event Socket output, and XML API output that serializes caller-controlled values. The fixed zero-byte write can abort the process or truncate an adjacent object, while remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, switch_core_media_add_crypto() passed the encoded key and salt length from an inbound SDP a=crypto attribute to switch_b64_decode() as the destination capacity. A zero-length key and salt made that capacity underflow, allowing the decoded attribute to overflow a fixed stack buffer with sender-chosen bytes before the call was answered. On the shipped external profile, an unauthenticated caller can reach the SDES-SRTP parser, while profiles that challenge inbound calls remain affected for senders who can authenticate; setting rtp_secure_media_inbound to false removes the path, and WebRTC DTLS-SRTP legs are unaffected. The overflow corrupts memory and can crash the FreeSWITCH process, dropping every active call, although remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, ws_read_frame() decoded a WebSocket frame's 64-bit extended payload length with a 32-bit byte swap and narrowed the result into a signed length. A value whose surviving low word became negative bypassed the signed size check and was reinterpreted as an enormous unsigned count, causing client bytes to overwrite memory beyond the 64 KiB receive buffer. Any client completing a /socket WebSocket upgrade on an enabled mod_xml_rpc endpoint reached the parser before HTTP authentication; both the module and WebSocket endpoint are disabled by default. The heap overwrite can corrupt connection pointers and crash FreeSWITCH, ending every concurrent session, although remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, switch_event_expand_headers_check() advanced beyond its heap copy when a positive offset in ${variable:offset} exceeded the variable value's length. The following length calculation and copy appended adjacent heap memory to the expansion result, potentially exposing channel variables, credentials, allocator data, and pointer bytes. The flaw is reachable through configuration templates that slice remote input and through authenticated Event Socket eval or Event Socket expand commands; the separate channel-variable expander used by ordinary dialplan slicing is unaffected. The requester cannot choose adjacent memory and disclosure stops at a zero byte, but repeated expansion can influence the layout. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is an open-source software telecommunications platform. Before version 1.11.2, an integer underflow in switch_xml_decode() can cause an undersized heap allocation when an XML document declares an entity with an empty replacement value. Subsequent copying overruns the allocated buffer. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach a SIP profile with presence management enabled and DTD processing permitted can trigger the vulnerability through a crafted SIP PUBLISH request. Exploitation can corrupt heap memory and terminate the FreeSWITCH process, interrupting all active calls. This vulnerability is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
