CVE-2026-99082 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86: Use active memslots for the per-vCPU MMIO cache KVM tags the per-vCPU MMIO cache with a memslot generation so that a memslot update invalidates cached MMIO information. Both the fill and validation paths use kvm_memslots(), which unconditionally selects address space 0, even when the vCPU is running in SMM and using address space 1. Commit 56f17dd3fbc4 ("kvm: x86: fix stale mmio cache bug") added the memslot generation to the cache key so that a memslot update could not leave a stale entry valid. When commit 699023e23965 ("KVM: x86: add SMM to the MMU role, support SMRAM address space") added the SMM address space, these helpers were not converted to use the active memslots. Consequently, an update to the SMM memslots can leave an entry from the old SMM address space apparently valid after the vCPU returns to the normal address space. A guest can then cause an access to valid RAM at the same GFN to be returned to userspace as KVM_EXIT_MMIO. Completing that exit through the VMM's RAM address space writes the backing page without going through KVM's write-tracking path. If the page backs a nested EPT table, KVM can continue using shadow translations derived from the old contents. The WARN_ON_ONCE() in kvm_mmu_write_protect_fault() catches this invalid cache and memslot combination. Use the vCPU's active memslots when caching and validating the entry. Memslot generations are unique across address spaces, so the generation also distinguishes the normal and SMM views. This matches the MMIO SPTE cache, which already uses kvm_vcpu_memslots(). On an unpatched current-mainline kernel, a regression test that fills the cache in SMM and updates only the SMM memslots fails the intended RAM write and triggers the kvm_mmu_write_protect_fault() warning. With this change, the same test completes the RAM write without a warning. The x86/smm_test, set_memory_region_test, and memslot_modification_stress_test selftests also pass.
CVE-2026-99070 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 2.5 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: do not warn on route notification size race fib6_info_hw_flags_set() sizes the skb with rt6_nlmsg_size() and later fills it with rt6_fill_node(). With nexthop compatibility mode enabled, a concurrent replacement can grow the group between these independent snapshots. rt6_fill_node() can then legitimately return -EMSGSIZE, so the warning does not prove a sizing bug. Remove the warning. The existing error path still frees the skb and reports the error to listeners.
CVE-2026-99033 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/packet: guard the ll header push in packet_rcv_spkt() packet_rcv_spkt() restores the link layer header with skb_push(skb, skb->data - skb_mac_header(skb)); That subtraction is only meaningful when the device actually has a link layer header. packet_rcv() and tpacket_rcv() both wrap it in dev_has_header(), which is also the predicate the block comment at the top of the file states the restore in terms of; packet_rcv_spkt() does not. commit d549699048b4 ("net/packet: fix packet receive on L3 devices without visible hard header") introduced the helper and changed the two call sites, and this one stayed behind. A device without a visible ll header can leave skb->mac_header at the 0xFFFF sentinel that __alloc_skb() initialises it to. A CAN skb does: init_can_skb() sets pkt_type and ip_summed but does not reset the headers, and commit 9f10374bb024 ("can: remove private CAN skb headroom infrastructure") dropped the skb_reset_*_header() calls that used to be there. skb_mac_header() is then 0xFFFF, the length becomes a large negative number and skb_push() reports it through skb_under_panic() -- from softirq context, so it is a full system panic even with panic_on_oops=0: skbuff: skb_under_panic: text:ffffffff8bd21bc1 len:-65455 put:-65471 head:... data:... tail:0x50 end:0x180 dev:can0 kernel BUG at net/core/skbuff.c:214! RIP: 0010:skb_panic+0x50/0x60 Call Trace: <IRQ> skb_push+0x38/0x40 packet_rcv_spkt+0xe1/0x170 __netif_receive_skb_core.constprop.0+0x7e8/0xd30 ... Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt The socket type is reachable: packet_create() accepts SOCK_PACKET alongside SOCK_RAW and SOCK_DGRAM behind the same CAP_NET_RAW check, and neither the socket length nor a capability check keeps it away from a CAN interface. The missing skb_reset_*_header() calls in init_can_skb() are a regression in their own right and are being fixed separately, but a packet socket should not turn a link layer that did not initialise its mac header into a kernel panic. Guard the push the way the other two receive paths do. Tested on v7.3-rc5 under QEMU with a slcan device on a pty, which is the driver RX path: vcan does not reproduce it, because can_send() resets the headers on the way out. One SOCK_PACKET socket bound to can0 and one frame written into the line discipline panics an unpatched kernel with the trace above; the same image with this patch prints no panic and powers off normally. Both kernels are this tree, defconfig plus CONFIG_CAN_SLCAN=y, differing only in this hunk.
CVE-2026-99007 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/fb-helper: defer setup when fbdev_probe() fails, not just on -EAGAIN __drm_fb_helper_initial_config_and_unlock() calls drm_client_modeset_probe() first, which already fills in each mode_set->mode/num_connectors for every connected output, and only afterwards calls drm_fb_helper_single_fb_probe() to create fb_helper->fb and wire it into those mode_sets via drm_setup_crtcs_fb(). If drm_fb_helper_single_fb_probe() fails with anything other than -EAGAIN (e.g. dev->driver->fbdev_probe() itself fails), the function bails out before drm_setup_crtcs_fb() runs and before setting fb_helper->deferred_setup. The client is left with mode_sets that have a mode and connectors but mode_set->fb == NULL, and nothing marks this fb_helper as needing a retry. __drm_fb_helper_restore_fbdev_mode_unlocked() only skips committing when fb_helper->deferred_setup is set, so a later .restore() call (drm_lastclose() on process exit, in this report) commits the stale mode_set through drm_client_modeset_commit() -> drm_client_modeset_commit_atomic() -> __drm_atomic_helper_set_config(), which hits WARN_ON(!set->fb). Mark fb_helper->deferred_setup on any drm_fb_helper_single_fb_probe() failure, not just -EAGAIN, so restore keeps skipping the commit until a later hotplug event successfully re-probes and re-populates mode_set->fb. The real error code is still returned to the caller unchanged.
CVE-2026-98956 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 2.5 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: adau1372: allow sleepy powerdown GPIOs gpiod_set_value() emits a WARN when the GPIO provider indicates that it can sleep, as is typical for I2C controlled GPIO expanders. Since the powerdown GPIO is only manipulated in process context, use the _cansleep variant instead. This lets the driver use sleepy GPIOs to power off the chip.
CVE-2026-98934 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: use skb_get_hash_net() in seg6_make_flowlabel() Since commit d58e468b1112 ("flow_dissector: implements flow dissector BPF hook") __skb_flow_dissect() needs a net pointer, either from skb->dev, skb->sk, or since commit 3cbf4ffba5ee ("net: plumb network namespace into __skb_flow_dissect") a caller provided pointer. syzbot was able to reach seg6_make_flowlabel() with an skb having neither skb->dev nor skb->sk set: a TIPC UDP bearer sends a discovery message through an IPv4 route using seg6 encap, while net.ipv6.seg6_flowlabel is set to 1. seg6_make_flowlabel() already has a net pointer, use skb_get_hash_net(). CVE-2026-98698 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: handle empty FILS association request payload fils_encrypt_assoc_req() accepts a (Re)Association Request frame whose last element is the FILS Session element. crypt_len is then zero and aes_siv_encrypt() is called with an empty plaintext. kmemdup() returns ZERO_SIZE_PTR for a zero-length allocation, so the unconditional sg_init_one() puts an invalid page into the scatterlist. With CONFIG_DEBUG_SG this triggers a kernel BUG in sg_set_buf(); without the debug check the bogus page is handed to the crypto backend. AES-SIV is defined for empty plaintext and the S2V result is then the complete output, so handle this case before the CTR step, which has nothing to encrypt.
CVE-2026-97566 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: pm: kernel: drop pending ADD_ADDR when removing ID0 The in-kernel MPTCP path manager can leave a stale ADD_ADDR announcement entry alive when removing the id 0 endpoint. This happens because the id 0 removal path does not tear down pending announcements, unlike the non-zero id path. When the PM later reselects id 0 after adding another signal endpoint, it finds the stale anno_list entry and hits WARN_ON_ONCE(mptcp_pm_is_kernel()) in mptcp_pm_announced_alloc(). Root cause: asymmetry between removal paths. - Non-zero id path: mptcp_nl_remove_subflow_and_signal_addr() calls mptcp_pm_remove_announced() to clean up. - Id 0 path: mptcp_nl_remove_id_zero_address() skips cleanup entirely. Fix by making the id 0 path symmetric: call mptcp_pm_announced_remove() and decrement add_addr_signaled before queuing the RM_ADDR. Subtle detail: signal endpoints are stored in anno_list with port 0, but msk_local carries the connection's local port. In other words, entries linked to ID0 paths should have port == 0. A follow-up patch will ensure that. mptcp_pm_announced_remove() uses use_port=true for comparison. So clear the port before the lookup.
CVE-2026-97534 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: accurately adjust free_sections during free_segment_range In free_segment_range(), MAIN_SECS(sbi) is temporarily reduced by `secs` to restrict block allocation to the safe remaining main area while valid blocks in the truncated range are evacuated by GC. However, FREE_I(sbi)->free_sections tracks the total number of free sections across the whole filesystem. If any sections within the truncated range were already free upon entering free_segment_range(), failing to deduct them from free_sections causes the filesystem to overestimate available free sections in the active, reduced main area. This leads to inconsistent free section accounting during GC data migration and can trigger unexpected allocation failures or assertion errors when space is tight. Fix this by calculating the number of already-free sections in the truncated range, deducting them from free_sections upon entering free_segment_range(), and restoring them on exit.
CVE-2026-97479 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: driver core: Avoid warning when removing a device while its supplier is unbinding During driver removal, the following warning can appear: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 139 at drivers/base/core.c:1497 __device_links_no_driver+0xcc/0xfc ... The topology in terms of consumers/suppliers used was the following (consumer ---> supplier): i2c -----------> OIC ----> PCI device | ^ | | +---> pinctrl ---+ When the PCI device is removed, the OIC (interrupt controller) has to be removed. In order to remove the OIC, pinctrl and i2c need to be removed and to remove pinctrl, i2c need to be removed. The removal order is: 1) i2c 2) pinctrl 3) OIC 4) PCI device In details, the removal sequence is the following (with 0000:01:00.0 the PCI device): driver_detach: call device_release_driver_internal(0000:01:00.0)... device_links_busy(0000:01:00.0): links->status = DL_DEV_UNBINDING device_links_unbind_consumers(0000:01:00.0): 0000:01:00.0--oic link->status = DL_STATE_SUPPLIER_UNBIND call device_release_driver_internal(oic)... device_links_busy(oic): links->status = DL_DEV_UNBINDING device_links_unbind_consumers(oic): oic--pinctrl link->status = DL_STATE_SUPPLIER_UNBIND call device_release_driver_internal(pinctrl)... device_links_busy(pinctrl): links->status = DL_DEV_UNBINDING device_links_unbind_consumers(pinctrl): pinctrl--i2c link->status = DL_STATE_SUPPLIER_UNBIND call device_release_driver_internal(i2c)... device_links_busy(i2c): links->status = DL_DEV_UNBINDING __device_links_no_driver(i2c)... pinctrl--i2c link->status is DL_STATE_SUPPLIER_UNBIND oic--i2c link->status is DL_STATE_ACTIVE oic--i2c link->supplier->links.status is DL_DEV_UNBINDING The warning is triggered by the i2c removal because the OIC (supplier) links status is not DL_DEV_DRIVER_BOUND. Its links status is indeed set to DL_DEV_UNBINDING. It is perfectly legit to have the links status set to DL_DEV_UNBINDING in that case. Indeed we had started to unbind the OIC which triggered the consumer unbinding and didn't finish yet when the i2c is unbound. Avoid the warning when the supplier links status is set to DL_DEV_UNBINDING and thus support this removal sequence without any warnings.

CVE-2026-53292 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: phonet: do not BUG_ON() in pn_socket_autobind() on failed bind syzbot reported a kernel BUG triggered from pn_socket_sendmsg() via pn_socket_autobind(): kernel BUG at net/phonet/socket.c:213! RIP: 0010:pn_socket_autobind net/phonet/socket.c:213 [inline] RIP: 0010:pn_socket_sendmsg+0x240/0x250 net/phonet/socket.c:421 Call Trace: sock_sendmsg_nosec+0x112/0x150 net/socket.c:797 __sock_sendmsg net/socket.c:812 [inline] __sys_sendto+0x402/0x590 net/socket.c:2280 ... pn_socket_autobind() calls pn_socket_bind() with port 0 and, on -EINVAL, assumes the socket was already bound and asserts that the port is non-zero: err = pn_socket_bind(sock, ..., sizeof(struct sockaddr_pn)); if (err != -EINVAL) return err; BUG_ON(!pn_port(pn_sk(sock->sk)->sobject)); return 0; /* socket was already bound */ However pn_socket_bind() also returns -EINVAL when sk->sk_state is not TCP_CLOSE, even when the socket has never been bound and pn_port() is still 0. In that case the BUG_ON() fires and panics the kernel from a user-triggerable path. Treat the "bind returned -EINVAL but pn_port() is still 0" case as a regular error and propagate -EINVAL to the caller instead of crashing. Existing callers already translate a non-zero return from pn_socket_autobind() into -ENOBUFS/-EAGAIN, so returning -EINVAL here only changes behaviour from panic to a normal errno.
CVE-2026-119141 1 Bytecodealliance 1 Wasmtime 2026-10-29 5.3 Medium
Wasmtime 46.0.0 before 48.0.6 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows malicious Wasm modules to panic the host because the may_leave flag is not cleared during realloc. Attackers can call into the host from realloc while lowering stream or future results, such as cancelling the active read or re-waiting a waitable-set, crashing the host.
CVE-2026-119142 1 Bytecodealliance 1 Wasmtime 2026-10-29 4.8 Medium
Wasmtime 46.0.0 before 48.0.6 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability where dropping the Future returned by TypedFunc::call_async can panic the host. When the guest task has not started, cleanup code searches only one location for work items and unwraps the resulting error, crashing embedders that cancel pending calls.
CVE-2026-119138 1 Bytecodealliance 1 Wasmtime 2026-10-29 4.8 Medium
Wasmtime 46.0.0 before 48.0.6 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows pending calls to trigger an assertion failure after a trap poisons the Store. Attackers supplying misbehaving guest code can cause a trap and let earlier calls proceed, crashing embedders that continue using the inconsistent Store.
CVE-2026-102483 1 Ntpsec 1 Ntpsec 2026-10-29 7.5 High
Reachable exit in NTPsec ntpd 1.1.4 through 1.2.5 allows a remote attacker to terminate the daemon via an NTS request with excess NTS Cookie Placeholder extension fields.
CVE-2025-34458 1 Wb2osz 1 Dire Wolf 2026-10-29 7.5 High
wb2osz/direwolf (Dire Wolf) versions up to and including 1.8.1, prior to commit 3658a87, contain a reachable assertion vulnerability in the APRS MIC-E decoder function aprs_mic_e() located in src/decode_aprs.c. When processing a specially crafted AX.25 frame containing a MIC-E message with an empty or truncated comment field, the application triggers an unhandled assertion checking for a non-empty comment. This assertion failure causes immediate process termination, allowing a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service by sending malformed APRS traffic.
CVE-2026-98923 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-29 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: io: Reject non-user protection in ioremap_prot() Mapping a stack-top page via /dev/mem with PROT_NONE and then reading that process's /proc/<pid>/cmdline triggers a spurious WARN in ioremap_prot() through generic_access_phys(): WARNING: ./arch/arm64/include/asm/io.h:275 at generic_access_phys Call trace: generic_access_phys+0x1c8/0x228 (P) __access_remote_vm+0x2b4/0x398 access_remote_vm+0x14/0x30 get_mm_cmdline+0xf8/0x2a0 proc_pid_cmdline_read+0x68/0x120 generic_access_phys() passes the protection derived from the user PTE to ioremap_prot(). On arm64, a PROT_NONE mapping is represented by a present-invalid PTE, so pte_present() still returns true and the protection reaches ioremap_prot(). A PROT_NONE mapping does not have PTE_USER, causing the existing WARN_ON_ONCE() in ioremap_prot() to fire even though this is a valid user mapping. Execute-only mappings have the same issue and must not be readable through this path either. ioremap_prot() should therefore reject protection values without PTE_USER without warning. This makes the access fail cleanly for PROT_NONE and execute-only mappings while retaining the existing user-protection contract.
CVE-2026-98925 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-29 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Fix self-redirect copied_seq double-counting When a BPF stream_verdict program redirects an skb back to the same socket (self-redirect with BPF_F_INGRESS), sk_psock_verdict_apply() calls tcp_eat_skb() which advances tcp_sk->copied_seq. However, the skb is then delivered to the socket's psock ingress queue and later read by tcp_bpf_recvmsg_parser(), which also advances copied_seq via the copied_from_self accounting path. This double-counting causes copied_seq to advance by 2x the actual data length, triggering: TCP recvmsg seq # bug 2: copied BF2E806, seq BF2E7FD, \ rcvnxt BF2E806, fl 0 WARNING: net/ipv4/tcp.c:2745 at tcp_recvmsg_locked+0x72b/0x2640 Call Trace: tcp_recvmsg+0x10a/0x500 sock_recvmsg+0x168/0x1d0 __sys_recvfrom+0x19a/0x2a0 __x64_sys_recvfrom+0xe4/0x1f0 do_syscall_64+0xf7/0x530 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f cleanup rbuf bug: copied BF2E806 seq BF2E806 rcvnxt BF2E806 WARNING: net/ipv4/tcp.c:1609 at tcp_cleanup_rbuf+0xf2/0x1c0 Call Trace: tcp_recvmsg_locked+0x8d1/0x2640 tcp_recvmsg+0x10a/0x500 sock_recvmsg+0x168/0x1d0 __sys_recvfrom+0x19a/0x2a0 __x64_sys_recvfrom+0xe4/0x1f0 do_syscall_64+0xf7/0x530 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f Fix this by converting self-redirect verdict to __SK_PASS at the beginning of sk_psock_verdict_apply(). This bypasses the __SK_REDIRECT case entirely (which calls sk_psock_eat_skb), letting the __SK_PASS path queue the skb to the psock ingress queue. The data is then read via tcp_bpf_recvmsg_parser(), which advances copied_seq exactly once through copied_from_self. Cross-socket redirects continue through __SK_REDIRECT with sk_psock_eat_skb() unchanged.
