CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
svcrdma: bound check rq_pages index in inline path
svc_rdma_copy_inline_range indexed rqstp->rq_pages[rc_curpage] without
verifying rc_curpage stays within the allocated page array. Add guards
before the first use and after advancing to a new page. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rcu: Fix rcu_read_unlock() deadloop due to IRQ work
During rcu_read_unlock_special(), if this happens during irq_exit(), we
can lockup if an IPI is issued. This is because the IPI itself triggers
the irq_exit() path causing a recursive lock up.
This is precisely what Xiongfeng found when invoking a BPF program on
the trace_tick_stop() tracepoint As shown in the trace below. Fix by
managing the irq_work state correctly.
irq_exit()
__irq_exit_rcu()
/* in_hardirq() returns false after this */
preempt_count_sub(HARDIRQ_OFFSET)
tick_irq_exit()
tick_nohz_irq_exit()
tick_nohz_stop_sched_tick()
trace_tick_stop() /* a bpf prog is hooked on this trace point */
__bpf_trace_tick_stop()
bpf_trace_run2()
rcu_read_unlock_special()
/* will send a IPI to itself */
irq_work_queue_on(&rdp->defer_qs_iw, rdp->cpu);
A simple reproducer can also be obtained by doing the following in
tick_irq_exit(). It will hang on boot without the patch:
static inline void tick_irq_exit(void)
{
+ rcu_read_lock();
+ WRITE_ONCE(current->rcu_read_unlock_special.b.need_qs, true);
+ rcu_read_unlock();

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
jfs: fix array-index-out-of-bounds read in add_missing_indices
stbl is s8 but it must contain offsets into slot which can go from 0 to
127.
Added a bound check for that error and return -EIO if the check fails.
Also make jfs_readdir return with error if add_missing_indices returns
with an error. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi-rockchip: Fix register out of bounds access
Do not write native chip select stuff for GPIO chip selects.
GPIOs can be numbered much higher than native CS.
Also, it makes no sense. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfrm: state: fix out-of-bounds read during lookup
lookup and resize can run in parallel.
The xfrm_state_hash_generation seqlock ensures a retry, but the hash
functions can observe a hmask value that is too large for the new hlist
array.
rehash does:
rcu_assign_pointer(net->xfrm.state_bydst, ndst) [..]
net->xfrm.state_hmask = nhashmask;
While state lookup does:
h = xfrm_dst_hash(net, daddr, saddr, tmpl->reqid, encap_family);
hlist_for_each_entry_rcu(x, net->xfrm.state_bydst + h, bydst) {
This is only safe in case the update to state_bydst is larger than
net->xfrm.xfrm_state_hmask (or if the lookup function gets
serialized via state spinlock again).
Fix this by prefetching state_hmask and the associated pointers.
The xfrm_state_hash_generation seqlock retry will ensure that the pointer
and the hmask will be consistent.
The existing helpers, like xfrm_dst_hash(), are now unsafe for RCU side,
add lockdep assertions to document that they are only safe for insert
side.
xfrm_state_lookup_byaddr() uses the spinlock rather than RCU.
AFAICS this is an oversight from back when state lookup was converted to
RCU, this lock should be replaced with RCU in a future patch. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
exfat: fix out-of-bounds access of directory entries
In the case of the directory size is greater than or equal to
the cluster size, if start_clu becomes an EOF cluster(an invalid
cluster) due to file system corruption, then the directory entry
where ei->hint_femp.eidx hint is outside the directory, resulting
in an out-of-bounds access, which may cause further file system
corruption.
This commit adds a check for start_clu, if it is an invalid cluster,
the file or directory will be treated as empty. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Implement bounds check for stream encoder creation in DCN401
'stream_enc_regs' array is an array of dcn10_stream_enc_registers
structures. The array is initialized with four elements, corresponding
to the four calls to stream_enc_regs() in the array initializer. This
means that valid indices for this array are 0, 1, 2, and 3.
The error message 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 below, is indicating that
there is an attempt to access this array with an index of 5, which is
out of bounds. This could lead to undefined behavior
Here, eng_id is used as an index to access the stream_enc_regs array. If
eng_id is 5, this would result in an out-of-bounds access on the
stream_enc_regs array.
Thus fixing Buffer overflow error in dcn401_stream_encoder_create
Found by smatch:
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/resource/dcn401/dcn401_resource.c:1209 dcn401_stream_encoder_create() error: buffer overflow 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Check link_index before accessing dc->links[]
[WHY & HOW]
dc->links[] has max size of MAX_LINKS and NULL is return when trying to
access with out-of-bound index.
This fixes 3 OVERRUN and 1 RESOURCE_LEAK issues reported by Coverity. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Fix index may exceed array range within fpu_update_bw_bounding_box
[Why]
Coverity reports OVERRUN warning. soc.num_states could
be 40. But array range of bw_params->clk_table.entries is 8.
[How]
Assert if soc.num_states greater than 8. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix to shrink read extent node in batches
We use rwlock to protect core structure data of extent tree during
its shrink, however, if there is a huge number of extent nodes in
extent tree, during shrink of extent tree, it may hold rwlock for
a very long time, which may trigger kernel hang issue.
This patch fixes to shrink read extent node in batches, so that,
critical region of the rwlock can be shrunk to avoid its extreme
long time hold. |

(1 << idx) of int is not desired when setting bits in unsigned long
overflowed_ctrs, use BIT() instead. This panic happens when running
'perf record -e branches' on sophgo sg2042.

Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix possible buffer overflow
struct hci_dev_info has a fixed size name[8] field so in the event that
hdev->name is bigger than that strcpy would attempt to write past its
size, so this fixes this problem by switching to use strscpy. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
riscv: VMAP_STACK overflow detection thread-safe
commit 31da94c25aea ("riscv: add VMAP_STACK overflow detection") added
support for CONFIG_VMAP_STACK. If overflow is detected, CPU switches to
`shadow_stack` temporarily before switching finally to per-cpu
`overflow_stack`.
If two CPUs/harts are racing and end up in over flowing kernel stack, one
or both will end up corrupting each other state because `shadow_stack` is
not per-cpu. This patch optimizes per-cpu overflow stack switch by
directly picking per-cpu `overflow_stack` and gets rid of `shadow_stack`.
Following are the changes in this patch
- Defines an asm macro to obtain per-cpu symbols in destination
register.
- In entry.S, when overflow is detected, per-cpu overflow stack is
located using per-cpu asm macro. Computing per-cpu symbol requires
a temporary register. x31 is saved away into CSR_SCRATCH
(CSR_SCRATCH is anyways zero since we're in kernel).
Please see Links for additional relevant disccussion and alternative
solution.

drm/i915/dmc: Add sanity check for DMC load address
For DMC firmware header version 3, the firmware load address is stored
in dmc_info->start_mmioaddr and later used by dmc_load_program().
Unlike the MMIO address table, the firmware load address is not
validated. Add a sanity check to ensure it is within the valid range.

| SQLite before 3.53.2 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the FTS5 full-text search extension that allows attackers to crash the process by supplying a crafted database with a malformed FTS5 leaf page. Attackers can set an oversized term length in the leaf page so that fts5LeafSeek() reads past the end of the page buffer while comparing terms during an FTS5 MATCH query, in applications compiled with SQLITE_ENABLE_FTS5. |
| libosmocore through 1.14.1 contains out-of-bounds reads in the GSM 04.80 supplementary-service component parsers in src/gsm/gsm0480.c. This allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information. |
