| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rtc: class: Fix potential memleak in devm_rtc_allocate_device()
devm_rtc_allocate_device() will alloc a rtc_device first, and then run
dev_set_name(). If dev_set_name() failed, the rtc_device will memleak.
Move devm_add_action_or_reset() in front of dev_set_name() to prevent
memleak.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntb_netdev: Use dev_kfree_skb_any() in interrupt context
TX/RX callback handlers (ntb_netdev_tx_handler(),
ntb_netdev_rx_handler()) can be called in interrupt
context via the DMA framework when the respective
DMA operations have completed. As such, any calls
by these routines to free skb's, should use the
interrupt context safe dev_kfree_skb_any() function.
Previously, these callback handlers would call the
interrupt unsafe version of dev_kfree_skb(). This has
not presented an issue on Intel IOAT DMA engines as
that driver utilizes tasklets rather than a hard
interrupt handler, like the AMD PTDMA DMA driver.
On AMD systems, a kernel WARNING message is
encountered, which is being issued from
skb_release_head_state() due to in_hardirq()
being true.
Besides the user visible WARNING from the kernel,
the other symptom of this bug was that TCP/IP performance
across the ntb_netdev interface was very poor, i.e.
approximately an order of magnitude below what was
expected. With the repair to use dev_kfree_skb_any(),
kernel WARNINGs from skb_release_head_state() ceased
and TCP/IP performance, as measured by iperf, was on
par with expected results, approximately 20 Gb/s on
AMD Milan based server. Note that this performance
is comparable with Intel based servers. |

If "interp_elf_ex" fails to allocate memory in load_elf_binary(),
the program will take the "out_free_ph" error handing path,
resulting in "interpreter" file resource is not released.
Fix it by adding an error handing path "out_free_file", which will
release the file resource when "interp_elf_ex" failed to allocate
memory. |

kobject_add
blk_mq_register_hctx
blk_mq_sysfs_register
blk_register_queue
device_add_disk
null_add_dev.part.0 [null_blk]
As 'blk_mq_register_hctx' may already add some objects when failed halfway,
but there isn't do fallback, caller don't know which objects add failed.
To solve above issue just do fallback when add objects failed halfway in
'blk_mq_register_hctx'. |
| Vulnerability in the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools product of Oracle PeopleSoft (component: Report Distribution). Supported versions that are affected are 8.61-8.63. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. | Tanium addressed an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in Discover. |
| In multiple functions of ubsan_throwing_runtime.cpp, there is a possible persistent denial of service due to resource exhaustion. This could lead to local denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In onHeaderDecoded of LocalImageResolver.java, there is a possible persistent denial of service due to resource exhaustion. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| HTTP::Body versions before 1.23_01 for Perl allow CPU exhaustion via quadratic rescanning of a multipart body with a missing or malformed boundary.
Before the first part, and between parts, the multipart parser searches the whole buffered body for the next boundary. On a miss it keeps everything and searches again from the start when the next chunk arrives. A body with no boundary, or with a delimiter followed by neither CRLF nor "--", is therefore rescanned on every chunk, taking time quadratic in its size.
A remote attacker can exhaust worker CPU with a few such requests. |
| The broker-side PushTelemetry API (KIP-714) validates only the compressed size of a client's metrics payload against telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB) before decompressing it. ClientTelemetryUtils.decompress() then decompresses the payload with no limit on the decompressed output size, growing a heap buffer until the compressed input is exhausted. A small, highly compressible payload (for example gzip-compressed zeros) can therefore expand to hundreds of megabytes of broker heap.
Impact:
An authenticated client can send a PushTelemetry request with a small compressed payload that decompresses to a very large size, consuming broker heap out of proportion to the request size. Repeated or concurrent requests can exhaust the broker heap and cause an OutOfMemoryError, degrading or crashing the broker; a client that targets multiple brokers can affect cluster availability. PushTelemetry is available to any authenticated client and is not gated by an ACL.
Mitigation:
Upgrade to Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.1, or 4.4.0. On affected versions there is no configuration that fully prevents the amplification, because telemetry.max.bytes bounds only the compressed size; lowering telemetry.max.bytes reduces the worst-case decompressed size proportionally and is a partial mitigation.
Resolution:
- From Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.1, and 4.4.0: ClientTelemetryUtils.decompress() enforces a maximum decompressed size equal to telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB). Decompression reads in bounded chunks and aborts with a TelemetryTooLargeException once the decompressed total exceeds the limit, so an over-large or highly compressible payload is rejected instead of being fully expanded in heap. The decompressed size is therefore bounded by default. |

wwan_hwsim: fix possible memory leak in wwan_hwsim_dev_new()

but the refcount of kobject is not decreased to 0, the name
allocated in dev_set_name() is leaked. Fix this by calling
put_device(), so that name can be freed in callback function
kobject_cleanup().

drm/i915/bios: fix a memory leak in generate_lfp_data_ptrs
When (size != 0 || ptrs->lvds_ entries != 3), the program tries to
free() the ptrs. However, the ptrs is not created by calling kzmalloc(),
but is obtained by pointer offset operation.
This may lead to memory leaks or undefined behavior.
Fix this by replacing the arguments of kfree() with ptrs_block.

drm/radeon: Add the missed acpi_put_table() to fix memory leak
When the radeon driver reads the bios information from ACPI
table in radeon_acpi_vfct_bios(), it misses to call acpi_put_table()
to release the ACPI memory after the init, so add acpi_put_table()
properly to fix the memory leak.
