CVSS v3.1 |
| A double-free vulnerability was found in handling vmw_buffer_object objects in the vmwgfx driver in the Linux kernel. This issue occurs due to the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing further free operations on the object, which may allow a local privileged user to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the kernel. |
| A double free issue has been identified in libarchive's RAR5 reader. During parsing of a specially crafted RAR5 archive, the filtered_buf pointer may remain stale after being freed during unpacking state reinitialization. Subsequent processing of another archive entry can trigger a second free of the same memory region, resulting in a double-free condition. Successful exploitation may cause applications using the vulnerable libarchive API to terminate unexpectedly, leading to a denial of service. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP's PSP file format parser. A double-free condition occurs in the read_layer_block() function when processing a specially crafted PSP file. This could allow an attacker to cause memory corruption, potentially leading to denial of service or arbitrary code execution. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: ctnetlink: remove refcounting in expectation dumpers
Same pattern as previous patch: do not keep the expectation object
alive via refcount, only store a cookie value and then use that
as the skip hint for dump resumption.
AFAICS this has the same issue as the one resolved in the conntrack
dumper, when we do
if (!refcount_inc_not_zero(&exp->use))
to increment the refcount, there is a chance that exp == last, which
causes a double-increment of the refcount and subsequent memory leak. |
| A flaw was found in OpenSSH. A malicious SSH server can exploit a double free vulnerability in the Diffie-Hellman Group Exchange (DH-GEX) client path. This occurs during FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) mode known-group validation when the client processes attacker-controlled DH-GEX group parameters. Successful exploitation leads to client-side process termination, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/nfs/read: fix double-unlock bug in nfs_return_empty_folio()
Sometimes, when a file was read while it was being truncated by
another NFS client, the kernel could deadlock because folio_unlock()
was called twice, and the second call would XOR back the `PG_locked`
flag.
Most of the time (depending on the timing of the truncation), nobody
notices the problem because folio_unlock() gets called three times,
which flips `PG_locked` back off:
1. vfs_read, nfs_read_folio, ... nfs_read_add_folio,
nfs_return_empty_folio
2. vfs_read, nfs_read_folio, ... netfs_read_collection,
netfs_unlock_abandoned_read_pages
3. vfs_read, ... nfs_do_read_folio, nfs_read_add_folio,
nfs_return_empty_folio
The problem is that nfs_read_add_folio() is not supposed to unlock the
folio if fscache is enabled, and a nfs_netfs_folio_unlock() check is
missing in nfs_return_empty_folio().
Rarely this leads to a warning in netfs_read_collection():

Most of the time, however, processes just get stuck forever in
folio_wait_bit_common(), waiting for `PG_locked` to disappear, which
never happens because nobody is really holding the folio lock. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Fix double invocation of bnxt_ulp_stop()/bnxt_ulp_start()
Before the commit under the Fixes tag below, bnxt_ulp_stop() and
bnxt_ulp_start() were always invoked in pairs. After that commit,
the new bnxt_ulp_restart() can be invoked after bnxt_ulp_stop()
has been called. This may result in the RoCE driver's aux driver
.suspend() method being invoked twice. The 2nd bnxt_re_suspend()
call will crash when it dereferences a NULL pointer:

Check the BNXT_EN_FLAG_ULP_STOPPED flag and do not proceed if the flag
is already set. This will preserve the original symmetrical
bnxt_ulp_stop() and bnxt_ulp_start().
Also, inside bnxt_ulp_start(), clear the BNXT_EN_FLAG_ULP_STOPPED
flag after taking the mutex to avoid any race condition. And for
symmetry, only proceed in bnxt_ulp_start() if the
BNXT_EN_FLAG_ULP_STOPPED is set. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
octeon_ep: Fix host hang issue during device reboot
When the host loses heartbeat messages from the device,
the driver calls the device-specific ndo_stop function,
which frees the resources. If the driver is unloaded in
this scenario, it calls ndo_stop again, attempting to free
resources that have already been freed, leading to a host
hang issue. To resolve this, dev_close should be called
instead of the device-specific stop function.dev_close
internally calls ndo_stop to stop the network interface
and performs additional cleanup tasks. During the driver
unload process, if the device is already down, ndo_stop
is not called. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: uvcvideo: Fix double free in error path
If the uvc_status_init() function fails to allocate the int_urb, it will
free the dev->status pointer but doesn't reset the pointer to NULL. This
results in the kfree() call in uvc_status_cleanup() trying to
double-free the memory. Fix it by resetting the dev->status pointer to
NULL after freeing it.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drivers: base: Free devm resources when unregistering a device
In the current code, devres_release_all() only gets called if the device
has a bus and has been probed.
This leads to issues when using bus-less or driver-less devices where
the device might never get freed if a managed resource holds a reference
to the device. This is happening in the DRM framework for example.
We should thus call devres_release_all() in the device_del() function to
make sure that the device-managed actions are properly executed when the
device is unregistered, even if it has neither a bus nor a driver.
This is effectively the same change than commit 2f8d16a996da ("devres:
release resources on device_del()") that got reverted by commit
a525a3ddeaca ("driver core: free devres in device_release") over
memory leaks concerns.
This patch effectively combines the two commits mentioned above to
release the resources both on device_del() and device_release() and get
the best of both worlds. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xhci: Remove device endpoints from bandwidth list when freeing the device
Endpoints are normally deleted from the bandwidth list when they are
dropped, before the virt device is freed.
If xHC host is dying or being removed then the endpoints aren't dropped
cleanly due to functions returning early to avoid interacting with a
non-accessible host controller.
So check and delete endpoints that are still on the bandwidth list when
freeing the virt device.
Solves a list_del corruption kernel crash when unbinding xhci-pci,
caused by xhci_mem_cleanup() when it later tried to delete already freed
endpoints from the bandwidth list.
This only affects hosts that use software bandwidth checking, which
currenty is only the xHC in intel Panther Point PCH (Ivy Bridge) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i2c: piix4: Fix adapter not be removed in piix4_remove()
In piix4_probe(), the piix4 adapter will be registered in:
piix4_probe()
piix4_add_adapters_sb800() / piix4_add_adapter()
i2c_add_adapter()
Based on the probed device type, piix4_add_adapters_sb800() or single
piix4_add_adapter() will be called.
For the former case, piix4_adapter_count is set as the number of adapters,
while for antoher case it is not set and kept default *zero*.
When piix4 is removed, piix4_remove() removes the adapters added in
piix4_probe(), basing on the piix4_adapter_count value.
Because the count is zero for the single adapter case, the adapter won't
be removed and makes the sources allocated for adapter leaked, such as
the i2c client and device.
These sources can still be accessed by i2c or bus and cause problems.
An easily reproduced case is that if a new adapter is registered, i2c
will get the leaked adapter and try to call smbus_algorithm, which was
already freed:

Fix this problem by correctly set piix4_adapter_count as 1 for the
single adapter so it can be normally removed. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.2 contains a double free in the WinPR Kerberos SSPI retrieveSomeTgt function, which installs the krb5 default realm into a target principal that has an empty realm without taking ownership of it. Unauthenticated remote clients can send a crafted NLA/CredSSP u2u TGT request whose server-name component contains '@' to corrupt the heap and crash the server process. |
| A flaw was found in 389-ds-base. The get_ldapmessage_controls_ext() function frees the parsed controls array on the Session Tracking critical-control rejection path without clearing the SLAPI_REQCONTROLS pblock slot. Operation teardown then frees the same pointer again, causing a double-free. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger this with a single BIND request carrying a critical Session Tracking control, resulting in heap corruption and potential denial of service. |
| Use-after-free in the DOM: Core & HTML component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 115.44, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6. |
| libyal libmsiecf through 20260525 contains a double free vulnerability in libmsiecf_url_values_read_data() that allows attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted partial URL records. Attackers can supply a crafted MSIE cache index.dat file whose recovered partial record has an oversized unknown_offset, crashing forensic tools processing it. |
| In crossbeam-channel rust crate, the internal `Channel` type's `Drop` method has a race condition which could, in some circumstances, lead to a double-free that could result in memory corruption. |
| A flaw was found in the key export functionality of libssh. The issue occurs in the internal function responsible for converting cryptographic keys into serialized formats. During error handling, a memory structure is freed but not cleared, leading to a potential double free issue if an additional failure occurs later in the function. This condition may result in heap corruption or application instability in low-memory scenarios, posing a risk to system reliability where key export operations are performed. |
| A flaw was found in GnuTLS. A double-free vulnerability exists in GnuTLS due to incorrect ownership handling in the export logic of Subject Alternative Name (SAN) entries containing an otherName. If the type-id OID is invalid or malformed, GnuTLS will call asn1_delete_structure() on an ASN.1 node it does not own, leading to a double-free condition when the parent function or caller later attempts to free the same structure.
This vulnerability can be triggered using only public GnuTLS APIs and may result in denial of service or memory corruption, depending on allocator behavior. |
| A double-free vulnerability was found in libdwarf. In a multiply-corrupted DWARF object, libdwarf may try to dealloc(free) an allocation twice, potentially causing unpredictable and various results. |
